Preface.

The writer being in his 79th year, and one of the few living great grandchildren of John Graham, Sr., the founder of his branch of the Graham family in this country, and having been at great pains and considerable expense in obtaining the information in the following pages concerning his ancestors, he desires to hand down to future generations the facts as he has collected them.

Many of the facts herein related, were not handed down by the line of tradition, but have been obtained by the writer through special effort, such as examining the county records of various counties, and while there are doubtless many lost links he believes it to be as full an account of his ancestors as is now obtainable, and should this brief sketch be the means of gratification to the present generation or future generation, the writer will feel amply repaid.
